yes its late

its in 2001 (AH paper), B6 b) i)

line L2: x / -2 = (y+2 ) / -1 = (z - 9 ) / 2

Obtain an equation on the plane that is perpendicular to L2 and passes through the pt (1, -4, 2)

I have no idea what to do. There is the rest of the question as well, but I don't think it should be relevant

OK, from (a) ii) you should have got that the direction of L2 is .

Now, to get the equation of the plane, we can use .
• is normal to the plane, so we can use
• is the position vector of a point lying in the plane, so we can use (-1, 4, 2) for that
• (but written as a column vector)

Combining all that, you should get
