Hi
I was working my way through 2004 past paper and came across some questions i was not sure about, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Multiple choice questions : 1, 2

Section B : 22 b, 23 b (ii), 23 c, 27 b, 28 b, 29 c.

Thanks for any help on any questions

For question one of the multiple choice.

cos(40) = F(horizontal)/100
F(horizontal) = 100cos(40)
F(horizontal) = 76.6 N
then just use the Work done formula.
Ew=Fd
Ew= 76.6*10
Ew=766 J

Question 2.
First calculate the time for the jump useing Vertical components.

u= 0ms-1 (as the motorbike is already on the ground it is not moving down/up)
s = 2meters
a = -9.8 ms-2

s=ut + 1/2 at^2

2 = 0 + 1/2*(9.8) * t^2
2 = 4.9 t^2
t= Square root of (2/4.9)
t = 0.64s

Then v= s/t (Vertical speed at the land is the same as at the start assuming air friction is nothing)
v=5.1/0.64
v=7.96
v=8m/s

Hope that helped you (if it didn't it was good practice for me anyway I'm not a fan of the projectiles stuff)
