Alright. Reading was quite good. The directred writing was not bad but I kind of had to make up a few sentences and I found it difficult to say some things.

Listening - ok for some qu's but also a few guesses.

Short response. Hmph, didn't really have a clue about that one. I got a bit sidetracked and ended up writing stuff about gap years!

Overall, for me it could have been a lot worse but it could have been better too. unsure.gif

hmm i only done int 2 as my stupid guidence teacher said i wouldnt be able to cope with higher .. heh as if he knows what hes talking about, bloody art teachers. but anyway it was easy apart from the listening as i had those big grass cutting machines outside so i couldnt hear anything sad.gif , cant complain tho last year i had pneumatic drills going off every 2 mins.

however, my french teacher was worrying about a phrase in the higher reading, as it translates as to put two ends together, but it actually mean to make ends meet.

owell, hope you done well smile.gif

I thought it went well. We went over the translation after with our teacher and I think I got it all right, reading was good. Directed Writing had some strange bullet points but I think I did ok in it. Listening and writing were ok I think biggrin.gif

What was the translation(in english). I think I wrote something like..
"I have worked for 20 years but struggle to make ends meet. everything is expensive and public services are not enough. I am not against paying taxes but in England we should get something in return"
Grrrrrr!!

Some of them came in pretty handy I must say! But there was some bits where a few of them could have come in handy and I just forgot them sad.gif esp in the short response.

I'm kinda confident I passed but I know for a fact it wasnt higher than a C because I had to make up loads of rubbish in the exam. Also, my speaking wasnt all that brilliant either. wink.gif

Anyways, how did the ah exam go fer ya derek?

Loony, I think I wrote pretty much the same for the translation.

Je travaille dur depuis vingt ans, mais je lutte pour joindre les deux bouts. Tout est si cher, et les services publics sont insuffisants. Je ne suis pas contre payer des impots, mais en Angleterre, on ne reçoit rien en retour!

I actually thought that exam went really well. I think i was the same as most of the people here: reading - straight forward, directed writing - okish but quite hard at some places, listening - ok at some places but had to guess in others, short essay - relatively easy, i used my speaking test phrases which was fortunate.
hope everyone did well
