Nope, noon is not 12pm

pm is post meridian, 12 is not post-meridian, nor is it anti-meridian, same with midnight

you're just being pedantic. most people would refer to 12 noon as 12pm, & midnight as 12am
when i'm dancin' with you,
tomorrow doesn't matter,

cos you're the only one who can get me on my feet,

Ahem.. is thread revival allowed? biggrin.gif

Anyway, here my school day is arranged as follows:

Every day:

8.55 - 9.05 Registration (where we make paper airplanes and sometimes cause havoc)
9.05 to 10.00 Period 1
10.00 to 10.50 Period 2
10.50 to 11.05 Break
11.05 to 12.00 Period 3
12.00 to 12.50 Period 4
12.50 to 1.50 Lunch smile.gif
1.50 to 2.45 Period 5
2.45 to 3.40 Period 6

Double periods tend to be spread over the place - this year I had 2 doubles next to each other and 2 with break/lunch in between them.

Hopefully in 6th year I'll see something more sensible like extra free periods tongue.gif (All 5th years at my school get 2 free periods on a Friday morning)

You bumped a thread!! You'll be killed. Well, I don't think you will. Anyway, I've nowt better to do so I though I'd enlighten you all with my splendiferous day!

8.55 - 9.05

Registration: Used for general doing of nothing, or in my case trying to wake up. Oh and quite often standing in the corridor cause damn regi teacher's always late!

9.05 - 9.50

First - In 5th year this was usually english and Amy and I used it to make cartoon strips of all our teachers tongue.gif

9.50 - 10.45

Second - First of whatever double we've got that day sad.gif

10.45 - 11.00

Interval - Random laughing in the canteen whilst pretending to be doing prefect duty or outside sitting round our tree

11.00 - 11.55

Third - Second half of double period :(x10

11.55 - 12.50

Fourth - I usually work in this one, or hide in the music base

12.50 - 1.40

Lunch. Tis too short imo unsure.gif

1.40 - 1.45

Registration again ohmy.gif

1.45 - 2.40

Fifth - Again, I usually work in this one seeing as it's generally biology or music

2.40 - 3.35

Sixth - The worst time of the whole day... Followed by maniacal shouting (aka bus monitoring) on the way home

How come my school's the only one that starts off so blooming early?

8:30-8:45 - Registration
8:50-9:36 - Period 1
9:41-10:30 - Period 2

10:30-10:50 - Break

10:55-11:48 - Period 3
11:53-12:44 - Period 4

12:44-13:30 - Lunch

13:30-14:30 - Period 5
14:30-15:30 - Period 6

Then I go home, course this is just the average day... in sixth year I'll be home by lunch on Tuesday and Thursday!

My school is thinking about changing the times and days. I can't remember exactly what they were thinking about but it involved school starting earlier, there only being half an hour for lunch and us having Friday afternoons for activities.
But I think the main reason was to stop peple causing trouble at lunch time. So glad I'm leaving.

laugh.gif ours is really strict 'cause we don't use a bell anymore, and the corridors aren't just one way so if teachers let classes out at different times like a minute later or earlier, it doesn't jam up the corridors.. Apparently anyway...

We get registered in the morning to make sure we aren't late and stuff, but we still get registered in every class, or supposed to anyway.

Does anyone else get that automatic call home if they're not at school? My school's supposed to have this system but I wasn't in school on Wednesday and I didn't get a call.. why have a system and then not use it properly!

In my old school this is the way it was meant to work, don't know if it did though.

1st and 2nd years, the attendance officer would actively call every absent pupil that day to find out why they are absent.

All other years, an automatic phone call home.

We have an automatic thing - it made my mum go mad once because she'd sorted that I could have a day off to catch a flight to Birmingham, and the rector said it was fine etc etc, yet it still told her I had an unexplained absence. What annoyed her most was the fact that it took 4 hours for her to be told, and if I had been kidnapped or whatever (!) then I could already have been out of the country.

...sorry. Rant over smile.gif
