Just curious....I play the drums and the keyboard to pretty reasonable standards, enough that I can write songs etc. However, I've always wanted to learn guitar, so for Uni I'm going to get a jet-black Johnny Cash style acoustic! biggrin.gif

Well then, over to you. smile.gif

Yay, what an exciting topic!

I loooove music so much.

I play the bagpipes, piano, fiddle, and guitar ...and I plan to learn how to play the flute and ONE day the 12 string guitar wink.gif biggrin.gif

The pipes are my main instrument. I think I play fiddle and piano at around the same level ...and the guitar (mainly acoustic) i just like to play around with - have only been playing that for about 2 or 3 years though.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

I'm totally unmusical.

I have a keyboard under my bed, though. I got that with the best intentions then never used it.

clarinet. i was up about grade 6 standard 2 years ago.....but i've not played much since i left school. also play keyboard a wee bit (it was my 2nd instrument at standard grade!) & i did voice for my 2nd instrument at higher. & also did an advanced higher performing unit with voice as my instrument. i was in everything musical at school, all the bands, choirs, orchestra, school show. its the one thing i really miss about school is the music department!
when i'm dancin' with you,
tomorrow doesn't matter,
turn that music up,
till the windows start to shatter,
cos you're the only one who can get me on my feet,
& i can't even dance

I never took music at school. I don't really like theory but it would have been a good skive. I was credit level group perfomance on the glock in S2 and I'm playing AH stuff on my horn now. I would have liked to take music this year, but it is in the same column as biology. (Which is the best subject on the face of the earth and theres no way I'm giving it up)

Hehe. The RSNO did Brahms 4, Beethoven's Piano Concerto No 5 and Egmont overture last Thursday. Obviously since those pieces do not require a massive percussion section it was quite small. What I thought was funny as they had the timps and to the side they had one guy sitting on a seat with a triangle infront of him and that was all he did in the concert. Hmm princple triangle I guess.
