I won't be going to that, I'm at work experience.

I finish at 5 on Monday, though, so I'll be there for the Prizegiving. Eventually.

Well, sophie said she got the prize for her gaidhlig - thats gaelic.

So I said "Well done Sophie! You did well."
(I wondered if the spellings were wrong.)

She then said
"Thank you! The spellings were directly spot on! You also did very well"

I said " Thanks very much. You're very kind."

I suppose that is a near-enough translation - ask Sophie, she'll know better than me smile.gif

Aw thanks. Yeah gaelic is a beautiful language to listen to - my dad is from Lewis, so he's all gaelic and mum knows it too. I'm not fluent or anything though cos I havent been around it much since we moved. I need to polish up on it just now though - we're off up to Lewis next week to visit the granny who insists we talk to her "properly". rolleyes.gif

Aye, she can, she's just being difficult. I think she's just set in her ways (a lot of them are up there) and she's a bit sad that not many people bother with gaelic now. Sometimes when her and dad are talking to one another they go in and out of English and Gaelic...its quite weird.

I have a great aunty in peterhead who talks gaelic in an aberdonian accent - it annoys the hell out of my granny!
