I have to say I think English is my hardest this year. I'm better at subjects like maths and physics because I like facts and figures. I don't really think you can study for english either....just do past papers I suppose, which isn't much fun dry.gif sad.gif

i also found english more challenging than i thought, but then again more than half our year failed the prelim and not one person got an A so i feel that was down to the school more than us, personally.

chemistry has been the bain of my life, i thought standard grade was easy but higher is just too much in one go, completly beyond my standards =|

maths was a bit of a hurdle for me also, but i climbed [well struggled] my way up to a B, so i'm proud of my achievements =]

Chem has to be one of the hardest highers.

Chem has to be one of the hardest highers.

My chemistry teacher insists it is. I'm not so sure, I've mainly been sleeping through it and it seems fairly easy in comparision to the other subjects. We might just have a good teacher though.

The one where chemistry isn't very difficult? Theres just quite a bit to memorise.

From fifth year, I think Chemistry wasn't so much hard, but more soo much content!
As for English, impossible I felt sad.gif But thankfully I passed!
Maths was fine..I like maths smile.gif
Gaidhlig had lots of work in it, but quite straight forward!
History though, is a tough subject I believe..you either have it or you don't I think..I'm doing Geography this year (on 6th year) and it's much easier..more that you have to memorize the content!!

i really enjoyed english this year but i think that was mainly because i liked my teachers methods as they helped me to remember the texts so this helped improve my essays

most people think chemistry and physics are really hard but really its just getting your head around it and memorising things.

At first when i failed my prelim i was ready to give up with chemistry but now im feeling a bit more confident about it as ive been going to revision classes so basically its ok if you put the work in.

i missed the first couple of weeks of school so when i went to maths i was like aaaah will never be able to catch up and just thought i was going to fail but really looking back unit 1 was the easiest and maths isn't that hard its just you think higher maths aaah but it aint that bad

Again modern studies is ok its just learning stuff and putting them into essays

well thats my little rant about subjects over with lol

I feel like ranting too, so I appologise in advance tongue.gif

English - imo this was pretty hard, I found it really difficult to memorise the quotes although learning the teachniques for the close reading wasn't overly difficult

Maths - I missed the whole of the first three sub-topics and that screwed me up. It might have been ok if I'd been in the class from the start.

Music - I thought that performing and composing were both fairly straight-forward, although I had to learn to sing from scratch blink.gif which took quite a bit of work...The listening I found a bit more tricky purely because so many of the concepts have multiple meanings and can be applied to so many different things.

Chemistry - Imho, this was the hardest subject I took, and it needed so much work to get my head around the bulk of it. But I suppose if you were good at maths and had quite a logical mind rather than creative (as I probably am) then it would be ok.

Biology - I didn't think biology was too bad, although there is a lot of stuff to remember, and you have to know everything in detail rather than just skimming over the surface of things, well, that's what I found anyway!

English - The close readings were daunting at first but i steadily improved. The writing is the tough part of the course as the marking seems to be very strict at times

Maths - Tough course at first but many things turn up again throughout the year which helps. A lot to learn though

German - The hardest part of the course is that the writing has to be a higher standard which can be tough to achieve but experience learnt throughout the year helps.

Information Systems - A good course imo but it can be boring at times. Again a lot to learn which is tough especially in the Using Information unit.

Human Biology - I really enjoyed the course but there is a lot to learn

In order of difficulity;

English - I just couldn't get my head around it for ages... failed the personal study 2 times before passing it tongue.gif Hopefully I passed the exam alright... put in some revision so should be ok.

Maths - Just so much to remember, various questions kept tripping me up :/

Chemistry - Sooo much to remember but its all factual etc. so shouldnt be too hard in exam biggrin.gif

Physics - Found it tricky at first but picked up later on, got an A in the prelim and the exam was so easy smile.gif

Computing - A breeze tongue.gif Although, I still need to put some more work in on remembering stuff for exam ohmy.gif (I was getting scores of about 72-81% on past papers)

Hmmm...

English - Never really liked it, but would say honestly that it wasn't that bad at all. Not too difficult in any way, just lots of remembering. Writing was good, but knowing what to write was problematic.

Maths - really enjoyable course. Sometimes tricky to get your head round one or two of the concepts (logarithmic functions were my Achilles heel in particular), but actually not much different from SG. Screwed up the exam, though, but that was just down to nerves and having my feet smacked out from beneath me by the sledgehammer that was the second paper - totally lost my bearings and dont think Ive attained any marks after question 4...

Physics - Always liked Physics, but teacher made it really un-enjoyable, and I lost my motivation. Not a difficult subject, a lot like maths obviously, but found Unit 3 quite tricky.

Geography - Really like the course - found it really interesting.

Drama - possibly one of the hardest subjects this year; Don't think that my acting was a problem at all, but the written stuff is an absolute bitch. Its like English, but times 3, then times another 6. So many plays to remember, essay questions are really similar to English but you have to answer an almost entirely different way, its really tough. But I love it.

IMHO.....
Easiest = Geo
Hardest = Drama
[and those are the two that I have left!]
Beyond it, and us, shines a greater hope and a brighter future
Can't wait 'til the exams are over!

This year:

Maths - I found it impossable, comepleatly screwed up the exam and I still need to do my unit 2 NAB. Though I don't see the point doing it now.

English - It was ok, requitred some work but its not like it was impossable.

Bio - Pretty much done nothign all year and still getting a good grade.

Information Systems - Easiest thing in the game. But really, really boring...

Maths - Not that challenging if you do a fair amount of questions. Once you've done the past papers, you pretty much know what will come up.

English - Really depends on the person taking it. I personally found it to be not that difficult, but i read quite regularly and enjoy it. Seemed to me that the people you didnt really read too much outside of class found it tough.

French - Quite reasonable, the speaking test can give you a really good chance of getting an A if you do well in it. It accounts for 25% of your final mark I think so if you work for that you should be almost set for the final.

Physics - I'd say the most challenging of the Highers i took, and i had to put in a more work for that exam than the rest. Again, the past papers helped a lot, but the key to getting me a good mark was to work consistently throughout the year, and making sure that I understood everything as we were doing it. That made revision a lot easier.
