My experiment is looking into the effect of age on bacterial growth in milk. The agar I planned to prepare was china-blue lactose agar. Once prepared, the milk would be placed on the agar at different ages and the number of bacteria counted.
Would china-blue lactose agar work in this condition? Would the bacteria grow upon it?
Would I have to use a pipete to evenly distribute blotches of milk across the agar (e.g. 5 blotches of milk on each plate or would it be better if the milk was streaked?
Thanks for your help!
