I was at Glasgow for about 10 weeks. Although, it was probably only about 5 in total because I was off so much, haha...

I didn't really like it. However, this could be because I was ill so much and I didn't really get the chance to meet anyone, make friends or, erm, learn anything.

I found that a lot of the people in my classes were very stuck up, and had that whole, "I'm so much smarter than you!" thing going on for them. Especially in film and tv. Just because I like Hugh Grant films...

I showed them all, though. I got one of the top marks in the year for the essay. So ha to them.

Anyway. I like the way that Glasgow operates, in that you don't have to decide what you're doing for your degree till the end of second year. It's very flexible that way.

Last January, I just had it in my head that I was going to Glasgow because it looks like Hogwarts. Which is a pretty stupid reason. I'm not planning on going back to Glasgow, though. I picked the wrong course, and I'll admit that. My advice is, make sure you do your research before you accept any offers. smile.gif

Don't even talk to me about Spanish, hahaha... I didn't like Spanish. It was bad.

The French department at Glasgow's pretty good, though. The lecturers are all really good. I didn't like the language assistant who did the speaking with us, she was a bitch. But Dougal Campbell, who does the grammar section, is a complete legend. The man's amazing.

If you do French at Glasgow, I have a whole lot of unopened books you can buy. tongue.gif I'll be needing the grammar book though, I think Strathclyde use it too. I'm planning on doing French in first year.

I liked French. I didn't like Spanish and Film and TV though. Spanish because I missed so much of it, and Film and TV because it was full of complete snobs.

firstly its not a computer it is in fact 2 computers a desktop and a laptop. However the guy i know at uni spent more than that one his desktop and needs higher specs still due to his 3D modelling/animation.

By quoting me on saying people who know about computers it seems to imply that you know about computers and believe i am wrong blink.gif

No, it doesn't imply that. However, I do believe you are arrogant (to say "please that pretty normal for us that know about computers") and also wrong. Most people of our age that know a lot about computers don't have a £4,000+ system.

I bought my laptop with the advice of my little brother, who is very knowledgable when it comes to computers.

For what I needed it for - typing, playing the Sims, storing music - it does just fine. And it cost all of £399. Get me.

My friend was told that she needed to buy a laptop for uni, and it'd cost her £1000. But she already had a laptop which she bought herself six months before, at about £500 or something. So she told them where to stuff their £1000 laptop.

That was a bit random of me, sorry.

its not arrogant. Fact is people who know a lot about computers are the people who use them to the full. For modelling, gaming, programming website design, music composition, movie editting. All these things cannot be dont with the rubbish found in your local PC World. John aint buying a system he is considering a 2 computers
