What did everyone think?
Did anyone get prop-1-ene for the compund in the last question?
Also, what did everyone do with that diagram question and what did everyone write for the Vitamin C question.
Did anyone get 55.55kg for one question (can't remember which one).

55.55kg sounds familar

The Vitamin C question = panic
And, what diagram are you referring to? [I'm sure there were more than one]
I've made so many stupid mistakes and I know it.

As for the preperation of esters diagram I forgot to put the paper towel condensor at the top of the test-tube. DAMN! lol (I went through all the PPA's drawing the diagrams yesterday)
Did you get that Vitamin C was in excess?

Almost EVERY multiple choice was a repeat of a previous one, didnt even change the possible answers

Overall felt it was the easiest exam so far, a couple of wee tricky bits, but overall pretty decent

Yeah, I didnt really know what i was supposed to do with the magnesium ribbon question.
Also got 55.55

A here we come:)

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

In the multiple Choice did anyone get D (3+4) for the mass of the ions.

Yes, I got that too
btw ally, I think that the CO2 dissolving thing might have something to do with polar covalent bonds in the CO2 molecule (not sure if this is right coz I havn't checked the data book - I think I might burn it lol!

Yeah! I got that. Didn't get 55.55 though...
Still I thought the exam went really really well. Definetly wasn't as hard as I was expecting. Would be gobsmacked if I didn't pass - and an A would be nice!

I thought the exam was quite difficult - harder than I thought it would be. I would say that it was definetely more difficult than the past papers I have done

Anyway, will just have to wait till August now

Also what did everyone write for the flow diagram?
Did anyone get the reaction to be a displacement 1?

Also, did anyone draw the sulphuric acid going into the neutrailser bit?

I put displacement for one of the questions too but I dont remember puttin 55.5 for any of them.
I got 3 + 4 for the mass of ions.
Did anyone else find the last question strange??

The last question was set in a problem solving context so you did not need any real understanding.
Yeah it was quite weird when I looked at it, but I think I understood what it was asking for.

I drew sulphuric acid going into the neutraliser bit, not because I knew that was where it was supposed to go, but because I couldn't really see anywhere else it could go

I thought that question was quite hard (Q3 I think it was)
I didn't really get what gas A and process B were - I just guessed. I think I put extraction for process B but I don't even think that is a type of reaction!
btw, 55.55 sounds vaguely familiar, except I think I rounded it to 55.56 - do you think that'll be ok?

hey im totally undecided on how i feel the exam went, in one way i dont think that it was too bad but i still have a bit of doubt. I was totally pushed for time for checkin things over at the end. Overall i thot that it was hard, quite alot of guess work! |
Hi

That's basically how I feel. I managed to write an answer for everything, but just not sure if it's the right answer! I think when you come out of the exam, you can only ever think about all of the questions you think you've got wrong, well I do anyway! Am feeling slightly better about it now than I did immediately after the exam
