I thought that was ok.
I think I perhaps wrote too much though, I look up 19 pages (2000+ words)!!!

For the data integrity questions you should have mentioned things like checksums or parity bits and the negative effects they have on system performance, but the increase in the reliability of the data.

I thought that the exam was quite easy (most people I talked to did as well). I wrote 19 pages. We were allowed to leave early, but most people stayed to the end to check their answers.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

I found Secton 3 to be the best; Computer Networking. Section 1 was easy enough, although I didnt get the data integrity question, and Section 2 was also alright, except for the questions on parameters.

I thought it was fairly straightforward, if only I could do the Prolog Question on AI I would have been really confident of an A as it is Ive dropped a lot of marks on that, still confident of at least a B, section 1 was as easy as ever and section 2 was fair by its standards and apart from the Prolog questions the AI ones were easy!

Hey i thought that the exam was pretty str8 forward 2 day, nothing different from past papers, althought it was not as hard as i thought it was going to be.
I thought this year the networking section in section3 was really easy. biggrin.gif
Every 1 was finished at 2.45pm, and then we were allowed to leave at 3pm so it was not bad way 2 finish of my 5th year exams Oh yes!!

Uh Oh. Me too. Section one - taking the p*ss. Section two - taking even more of the p*ss. Section 3 (Multimedia) - Ok. Managed to salvage a good few marks. Did anyone get the question with the selective control structure or whatever the fecking question was? Apparently it was the CASE statement or a nested IF structure. At least I started on the whole IF thing. Ah well. Teacher still reckons I'm gonna get an A. He bet his salary on it. He better win the lottery. Fast.

Do you know how much a teacher's sallery is, far too little, I know cause my parents are teachers. He won't need a lottery win to replace his salery cause your gonna get an A!

Yeah, I know what you mean, I had geography then computing in the one day during my prelims and my hand was in agony for days. Its all a big conspiricy between doctors and the SQA to get doctors more money according to one of my friends.

Its my first post...how exciting.

i thought it was more difficult than last year.

the data integrity question i put error checking none fo the checksum or parity check rubbish.

someone said globular variable i think erm.....i think your getting mixed up with you bio or chem with globular proteins lol, global variable are variables whos value can be used in any procedure, or module, whatever you want to call it.

the ProLog question was hard, i never knew some beetle where cannabil lol.

all in all with my full marks for coursework i need 57% For and a if it 70% cut off and 62% if its a 75% cut off, so not too many worries.

Multimedia wasn't easy, I didn't bring the paper home but I remember being stuck on part © of the very last questions (picked the second of the two choices). Did you pick that one? I am hoping frequency modulation and wavetable synthesis will count for saying what part of the sound card can help in editing. I have a feeling they won't, but I couldn't think of anything else.

Sore hand indeed, I was working right up til the end and still missed out a 2 mark question!
