I want to try and make a photo album kind of thing where each photo in the flash program can be selected and saved, from disc, onto the users own Hard disc. Does anyone know the code for doing this or have an idea to help me get started. I have tried to convert each image into both movie clip and button but so ar nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What exactly do you mean by " from disc, onto the users own Hard disc", do you mean images within flash that you'd already insert in advance, or images on the server hard disk?

i want to put images from my computer, into a flash program, publish it and put it on a disc. Then the user can open the flash from the disc and save whichever photos they want to.

Or failing that, I am going to make the photos full size then I'm sure that there is a shortcut on the finished flash file, to take a screenshot and save that.

anyone have any idea of what the shortcut is I remember seeing someone on a flash course I was on doing it but I never found out how.

my worry for you is though that using flash might not be seen as complex enough

VB could be used i think. If your interested i can certainly look into it for you

If i am not here i am somewhere else

you could but that would mean learning a new laguage whereas VB is either wot u have already been using or very similar

flash is complex enough so long as there is reasonable actioscript involved

no way could doing that in Vb be harder than doing it in Flash, ive been doing Vb about 3 months and could almost do that but actionscript is brick compared to Vb

im using flash this year, its not enough just to use animation there has to be considerable actionscript involved with it

Its actually just for the yearbook. Its not my project so I don't need it too be complex or have lots of actionscript in it.

I am doing a teaching aid for Maths using Flash for my project I just thought it would be better to post the question in here than on a general page.

it would be far easier to do the yearbook in VB,

There is no other option but Flash.

I have it at home and is available in school.

I have never used VB before I have only previously worked in Comal. I have basic knowledge of Falsh eg I can do buttons and simple arrays and some very simple actionscript.

LOL I thought that too but I actually got put in YOung Enterprise but didn't want to do so I got moved into the yearbook by saying it would help with my advanced computing, which is completely true IF I can get the program to work.

I don't know. Don't think you can do it in flash, sorry to burst your bubble lol. Flash would be really awesome if you were working on an interactive project ideally hooked up to a database or something with php and stuff like that. Else it's great for it's graphics and animation - but then again you can always achieve brilliant coding in VB and have the flash embedded in vb if it's the graphics only that you're after.

Had an idea.

Could it be done by, on the click of the mouse, create a file, write the image to the file and then store in a user defineed path.
