Here's a forum where you can post all the mistakes (including spelling mistakes; yes, they do count!) in exam papers, and possible future ones.

Past Exams Containing Mistakes

Maths - Standard Grade Credit - 2003
French - Standard Grade Credit - 2003
Economics - Standard Grade General - 2003
Business Management - Standard Grade Credit - 2003
RMPS - Intermediate 2 - 2003
Computing Studies - Standard Grade Credit - 2003

Recent additions:

Information Systems - Higher - 2004*
French - Higher Reading Paper - 2004
Modern Studies - Higher - 2004
History - Higher - 2004

I'm sure the list will be full in no time tongue.gif

*SQA responded, saying that it wasn't a mistake. Therefore, the question in question has to be classified as being (extremely) badly worded.

Oooh well if we're counting the ones they made us change ourselves too (and then let us talk about the paper before starting):

2003 Credit Maths (the real muck up)
2003 Credit French Reading
2003 General Economics
2003 Int 2 RMPS
2004 Higher French Reading
2004 Higher Information Systems

I'm sure the list will grow

What was the spelling mistake? We weren't told about it and I didn't notice it. Quite a shockingly large list of problems taking shape here, even if they're not all that major.

Credit Business? Thats rubbish- we werent told about that- I'll have to speak to our school about that- they make mistakes all the time. Like last year they nearly gave us out the wrong candidate number cos the admin staff couldnt read in a straight line.
Half ideas, half quality, half a million pound law suit!

Yeah, in the first question - it was the one about Globalisation - the question asked for one advantage or something similar but the invigilators told us that it should have read two. You really weren't told? That's bad! Lol about the admin staff btw, my schools is just as bad - last year they put the seat numbers for the following days exam up when they should have put them up for my computing exam!

Higher History Paper 2 - Special Topic 7 Appeasement And The Road To War

2 Dates wrong in Sources B and C

Both meant to read 1938 instead of 1936.

The Credit Computing exam last year, there was a mistake that we were told about. But I can't remember what it was.

This years Higher Modern Studies exam; In each of the DME's the numbers/letters of the sources in the questions were all wrong.
e.g. it said "Use sources B & C2" but it was meant to be A & C2.... or something.
We were told about it before the exam, though.

Still, why can't they notice the mistakes before they print all of the exam papers? Pfft, foolish humans mad.gif

Yep, I'm pretty sure there was [although my memory is a bit shifty sad.gif]

There was definately an exam last year that had a correction in it. And I'm pretty sure it was Computing. And I'm also pretty sure it was the Credit paper. And if I remember correctly it was in one of the later questions. It was a pretty insignificant correction [again, if I remember correctly tongue.gif]

Can anyone else can remember back to SG Comp exam to back-up what I'm saying?

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

Hehe but still the paper was easy and im sure u got a grade 1, but there was a mistake, and every 1 shuda been told.
Thats the SQA for u, how many ppl do think they have their, and they cant even check over a paper and get it fixed before the exam!
They have a whole year to do that.

well i thought the mistakes in history were terribly. what would be the first thing you would check in a history paper the dates!!!

but then again it would be too much to ask that the stages of checking and vettin actually worked!
