If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

I got over 85% in Maths, as that's a band 1 A. Is it normally that high?

Hi werlop,

Do you know where on the SQA site that the grade boundaries are published?

Cheers,

H

Hmm... I got 75% and I got a B blink.gif

Is there anything I can do about it? Is there any explanation for it?

And I definitely got 75%, just got the marks breakdown today.

I got 38 for paper 1 and 60 for paper 2, that makes 98 doesn't it wacko.gif

What is going on here? Have the SQA made screw-ups like this before?

Or do you need to get above 98?

Sorry for the barrage of questions.

Hmm that's well weird!

Are you sure that's not your prelim mark? I don't know how they could make a mistake if it's down on paper that you got 98...maybe it's an error in the grade bounderies and it's actually 99 for an A or something.

Keep us posted huh.gif

Absolutely 100% that this is my real exam mark, I made a complete arse-up of my prelim tongue.gif

Anyhoo, I'll speak to the maths teacher tomorrow and see what he's got to say about it.

I'm still pissed off though, I made tonnes of stupid mistakes like integrating when it said differentiate and things like that and if I'd actually looked over it properly I wouldn't be going through this hassle just now rolleyes.gif

That's pretty weird. If you got 98 then you should have got an A (unless the SQA made a typo for the grade boundaries)...

But yeah, get in contact with your teacher and maybe also drop the SQA an email about it.

Okay then, here we go. I went in today and told the teacher about this. I said I had 98 marks (or 75%) and I still got a B. He proceeded into a half-baked explanation about grade curves and drew a couple of graphs. He then said something about them moderating results and even though it said 75% on my paper, I might only have got 72%. It was all quite confusing. I don't really know if he just thought I was an idiot and was trying do explain what the SQA do every year or what...

I still can't see how I got 98 marks and got a B though.

Mr. H, can you shed any light on this?

When I download the grade boundary file from that web address, I only get the standard grade boundary's?! Weird!!
How do I get the higher ones?
