I don't have a clue what my timetable is like!

I get what you mean about it being weird. A lot of the people in my work are just in 5/6th year and they think that I'm old because I'm going to uni, haha past it already tongue.gif

Don't suppose anyone knows when you enrol for the French class and what books you need to buy? This person hasn't gotten back to me so I'll need to call her dry.gif

I've not got any book lists yet. They'll probably give them at enrolement.

I think Waterstones, Ottakars and Borders give you Student Discounts and you've also got the campus bookshops.

Is it French 1A you're doing? Language, Literature (easy for me to spell) and Modern France?

I emailed Heather Lloyd but she hasn't emailed me back. You get your booklist at enrollment which is a week on Wednesday I think? Hang on and I'll check and let you know...

3 o'clock in the modern languages building in the main lecture theatre.

But I've been nosing about on the website and it gives you a list of books there. You can find it all http://www.french.arts.gla.ac.uk/prospective.html

Click on French 1A and it'll give you all the bumf. However, I'm now confused because there was something else I printed out and it had a different book on it for the grammar section which I bought, so I think you're probably better waiting till enrollment and you can get the final book list. The literature's probably all right, and you just need a big French dictionary. I got mine the other day, £30 it cost me, I nearly fell over. =/

All the books you need are in the John Smith book shop on campus. You can go look here - http://www.johnsmith.co.uk/glasgow

I'm so sad, I'm excited about getting all my books, haha! I have tonnes to buy though, I have like 7 for film and TV studies. =/ They just "recommend" that you buy them though, but that means, "Go out and buy them you cheap git."

I'm so bored, I was just have a wee look at your French class! smile.gif One of the books I remember my big brother using when he was studying French - En Bonne Forme. (Bet you just needed to know that! tongue.gif)

I don't know if I am buying ALL the books that the university will tell you too. Some of them might not be totally relevant.

My Grandpa said he'd buy me my books, so I'm getting most of them, haha. He's loaded, I'll take advantage of it, bahahaha... Poor old Grandpa. He's quite willing though. And I'm sure I can sell them on next year and get him some money back!

Does anyone know when you get your timetable? I need to know the latest I'm going to be at the uni! Also, do you have to go to the induction thing on the 20th, as I'm going up on the 19th for the matriculation and don't want to go up again for a stupid lecture tongue.gif. Anyone know if induction is important etc?

I have no idea. I thought I'd get at it at my meeting with my adviser, but I didn't. You won't really know until you've enrolled for classes and that, because the seminars are all at different times.

If you go onto the website for the subjects you want to do, that should give you a rough idea.

I'm in till half six on Tuesdays. =/ I'm going to DIE.

Not all the departments have the info up on the sites... Do you have the big course catalogue thing? It's great. What courses is it you're doing and I'll look them up, it has lecture times in it.

Nooo, you don't. I don't think. There's nothing much on during the day anyway, I don't think.

Ooh, how weird will it be if we see one another this week?! Haha... I love meeting people from the Innurnet, I think it's hilarious.

Hahaha, yeah, me too! It's on Wednesday and Thursday. So I'll go on Wednesday, I'm going to my wee cousin's birthday party on Thursday. Eight five year olds dressed up as fairies - what a laugh this'll be. =/

My big brother said to me, "Nick me some pens at the freshers' fair will you, I can't be bothered buying any."

Shaun....u get ur timetable decided at the beginning of term. Like, when u go to Maths for the first time, u fill in a form tellin them the other subjects, then they will decide the most suitable time for u to go to a lecture....thers 10, 11 and 4 o'clock lectures...just hope u dont get 4pm! This routine is the same in most depts...altho physics will defo be at 9am! but they will get u to fill in a form for them to decide ur best times for labs/tutorials
