hi, i did not do so great in highers, less well than i thought, so am not too happy. I got ABCCC all highers/. Am hoping for an appeal in one of them though. i got a/b in bio and chem. i generally think i want to stay along the courses to do with science. i was just wandering how restrictive those grades would be to getting into a course, and what ones i would be able to enter.
Also i was wandering if a course that say asks for BBBB or something like that, if i got say 3 B's next year, would that give me enough or do they tend to want it over 1 year. was thinking about biomedical sciences, however dont know if that is now out of reach now as i that asks for 4 b's i think, or 300 points, something like that.
will obviously speak to my tutor when i get back to school.
thanks for any help.

I don't think a science course is out of reach at all. Your two best grades were in the sciences, so that says alot.

The BBBB probably relates to highers passed on one year. However, if you do more subjects this year you may be given a conditional offer (probably higher than that 5th year grades, but not too high).

If I were you what I would do is get in contact with the admissions department of the universities that you are interested in and see what they have to say.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

yes i agree with Werlop

What you need to do is simply not worry and apply for your science courses this year and see what conditions you get because i think you will get a conditional offer

If i am not here i am somewhere else

I reckon you'd get an offer in the region of BB at Higher. smile.gif

Your chances of getting an Unconditional are great actually!! Im sure Aberdeen, Sterling, and even Edinburgh will be your best options for unconditionals. But for conditionals, the most that u will get (the way i see it) is a BB or a BBC (at the most).

Yea check out the admissions and see what they have to say.
You have ur 6th year so just do well this year and get the requirements and u'll b alright! Main thing is not to panic and just focus.

All the best

It depends on what uni you're wanting to go to but since you're grades are pretty good and your best subjects are sciences you shouldn't any [problem getting into Biomedical Sciences! A friend of mine got in to a Science course at Glasgow uni on condition of getting a B (she got BBC in 5th year). If you do a really good PS, you might even get an unconditional but even if you were given a conditional offer, I doubt they'd be asking for a lot. (I'm going to do Biomed this year, that's why I'm ranting on!)
The race is long, and in the end it's only with yourself.
