Well I contacted Glasgow Uni and the admissions person said that since I had achieved the nexessary grades in 5th year, she would advise me to sit crash higher in 6th year.
I'm up for the challenge though.

It may be of interest to you that I know someone who crashed higher chemistry in 6th year - for the same reasons as $D$2 - and got an A - so it is definitely possible.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

That's good to know. Did he/she say how hard it was? Did they actually get in to medicine?

They thought it was hard work initially, but once they actually understood the basics they didn't find it any harder than someone who had sat standard grade.
They did get into medicine, but not at Glasgow.

I say go for it (but my opinions on Chemistry are controversial anyway).

My chemistry teacher said that you get people who find chemistry difficult and you get people who just find it so easy. I think it might depend on what kind of person you are.

Well I went to speak to my subject choice teacher today and she recommended that I didn't take it. She said that since I didn't have SG behind me it would not be a good option
. Still I can always apply to medicine at Dundee.
I'd just like to thank everyone who participated in this topic! You have been a real help to me. Sorry if I have been wasting your time.

Well to be honest I still think you should do it - if you are applying to medicine your personal statement needs to be centred on medicine and medicine only which means that you can't really apply to other courses with the hope that you will get a medical place.
By not doing chemistry you are seriously limiting the number of places where you can apply to.
I think you should take it, and if you find it really really difficult you can always drop it.
I agree KhalidBoussouara - chemistry is quite easy because everything is so logical.

Well I'm trying to keep my options open for the future... medicine is something that I may not do. I'd rather not take chemistry if in the future I decide I really don't want to do medicine - plus I really don't like chemistry too much - that's why I dropped it after 2nd year.

i am doing higher chemistry at the moment and i think you only really need 2 know about writing chemical equations, different types of bonding, and working out massconcentration etc
(i have 2 congradulate tho for planning 2 crash chem, i find it very hard but then again im not really smart enuf 2 do medicine lol)
