Everybody puts it on in interviews and stuff though. Like I remember going on in my Tesco interview about how I was interested in retail and such like. cool.gif

I was working today 8-5! I am tired. blink.gif

Also was playing tennis on Friday night there at Helensburgh, and our club ended up getting pumped 9-0. We're good! laugh.gif

Do you remember I once had a self description on my profile something along the lines of "Satanist, alcoholic, likes taking clothes off and getting drunk". Well it was a dare, which finished ages ago.

It may be obvious to most of you that it was complete sarcasm. (tongue.gif) However, to my mother - who during that time happened to stop by HSN and find my profile - this was not so obvious. For the last few months she has been seriously worried about me! ohmy.gif Truly truly embarassing!!

You should have seen me trying to explain to my parents tonight. blush.gif

So that is an end to the dares and anything else which might get me in trouble!

Sadly, I don't, although that would have been really cool. tongue.gif

I've a deep voice with a Glesgeh-ish accent. Like, full-blown, "Haw you! Wherez ma bucky?" John, Sharon, Richard, Blondie or someone'll back me up there.

Then I have my public speaking voice which is slightly better, as I concentrate on fully pronouncing words, but Yorkshire it ain't. Sorry tongue.gif

You could always learn to imitate one. Just get a soundbite to hear the nuances and then repeat after me:

"Aaaay chuff me, that's grand that is, lad."
"Awwr, I'll have some of that pie, I will."
"Cor, that's smashing them fish n chips."
"Ta love, that's a great cuppa."
"Ey up lad, you're in Yorkshire now."

Though perhaps that stuff isn't "educated" enough?

Alan does have a right neddy accent. They all do down here, though, in my opinion. I dunno if I really have an accent.
Who's an example of an educated Yorkshire accent? Doesn't seem a possible juxtaposition!

Got my exam results - 18 for Gaidhlig, 17 for Celtic (hated this class), 17 for Gaelic Culture, all out of 20, so I am chuffered once again smile.gif

when i was in 4th year a wee 1st year boy memorised pi to 50 decimal places. given that first years probably don't even know the significance of pi, that is what i'd call the ultimate geek!

Yorkshire people are scary, when I worked for an internet company some of my co-workers were from Yorkshire and I couldn't stop laughing at them on the phone due to the way they speak. Then again I was one of only 2 Scottish Employees so we got ripped for our accents too.

"Away ya go lad, I'll get an Alpaca on ya, I will!". huh.gif laugh.gif
