I've studied tonight! I've written 3 pages of notes on ethnic social stratification: social identities and inequalities.

I'm envious. I promised myself I'd do at least some studying tonight, but two hours later, the book's still lying unopened. It's not like I even have any distractions, because I'm not signed into MSN. Meh.

According to an IQ test off some random-flash-site, my IQ is only 84, with the average person having an IQ of 100. What the heck happened there? I sat an IQ test in fourth year and managed 127. I can't remember ever hitting my head in the years since, but then again, I wouldn't, would I? unsure.gif

IQ sites are a load of bull.

Which site? I want to take it.

I'm envious too. I made a revision plan today. But 8 hours in and I'm not sticking to it.

DAMMIT! MoreThan cancelled my car insurance! An admin mistake? Aye right! How am I supposed to get to work today?!

Better yet, how am I supposed to get to university in time for my first lecture tomorrow? :S Bathgate to Hermiston takes almost three hours, and I don't think there's a bus before 7:15.

Re all the indendence talk - the SNP support a plan close to what was used in many nations with similar economic characteristics as Scotland and some with less favourable economic conditions (Ireland, for example). Obviously we could never say that it would automatically, definitely, canny-go-wrong work, but nor from that can you say it won't! The whole point of comparative politics/economics is to learn from other countries and apply what you learn to your own.

It's interesting how people seem to think we "rely" on the English economy...the reason figures may look skewed is because of all of the financial institutions in London. You can't expect the Scottish financial sector to compare when the UK's financial centre is in England. If you removed the south east of England from your calculations, there is virtually no difference between Scotland and the rest of England. Obviously an independent Scotland would create its own financial institutions etc, and the SNP plan would lower the rate of corporation tax to increase investment in the country.

Then you've got the socialists, greens etc who advocate a much more socially-driven economic program with nationalisation of transport and utilities, more focus on education, crime-prevention, encouraging employment in poor areas etc.

Imagine how much Scotland could save in terms of a military - only a minimal national defence force would be needed, and definitely no weapons of mass destruction.

Oddly enough, I'm actually undecided on the independence issue, but I hate to see arguments being thrown around which have no factual basis.

Oh, and Orkney a seperate country? HAHAHAHA.

Tommy Sheridan was on Buchanan Street shouting about nothing in particular yesterday. Council tax maybe. I didn't realise who it was until after I'd walked straight past him.

If I'd know it was him I would shouted something about his rudey dudey sex life and ran like the clappers.

4pm. I got up at 9am to do some revision for my second maths prelim on Tuesday and all I've done is one solitary question. I am going to fail. Again. Great dry.gif

EDIT: Progress in the past two hours: 0. But I did get some coding done.

There's no food in my house and I'm starving. I remember saying that I was staying at home because my mum would make sure I was fed, but no. There's nothing to eat. I heated up the soup she'd suggested but it smelt odd and tasted even odder so that's that out the window. And there's no mini pizzas left in the freezer. I was all ready to get some Heinz tomatoe soup out of the cupboard, but no. My big brother finished that off last week too.

I'm going to starve and waste away to nothing. sad.gif

No problem, Lindsay. Let me hop in my car and drive to the shops for you.

... No, wait. I can't, because I've no car insurance, and haven't had for the past two months.

Thank you, MoreTh>n for having the decency to phone me up on Saturday and inform me that due to some mistake of your own, I've been driving illegally since the start of March. How about you insure my dog too? I'd need cover for the massive vet fees that I'd likely be charged if I accidently knocked it down when out driving my uninsured car...

Well... No. Actually, technically there's the wee shop on my street that sells all sorts of random crap. But nothing worth eating. And there's Lidl as well. But I don't like Lidl, it's full of drunken people buying cheap booze to drink outside the shop.

I love Airdrie.

But aye, it's ok, maw's home now. She can feed me.

I have the cold, which means my mum's being really nice to me. She took all my dirty dishes out of my room earlier and everything. I think it's because I look so pathetic when I have a cold, I just give up. Don't wash my hair, don't put on make up and I get a really annoying dry bit of skin under my nose.

I am SO going to go study now.

i'm totally utterly completely fed up of uni. i hate my course, i hate all my classes, i hate stupid class tests in the last week of term, & i especially hate stupid lecturers who give you assignments that you find out about on monday and are due in for thursday. even the fact that "if i just get through these exams, i'll have a degree" isn't much consolation.
when i'm dancin' with you,
tomorrow doesn't matter,
turn that music up,
till the windows start to shatter,
cos you're the only one who can get me on my feet,
& i can't even dance
