Personally, the idea of a controlled economy doesn't turn me on, but everyone's different, neh.

Hitler had a pretty heavily planned economy, but it was under private ownership...the three basic catagorisations are so worthless.

And he did give some explanation, he said (almost straight from my notes) "Marx hadn't appreciated the malleability of capitalism... he never thought we would have laws and rules to organise monopolists or that society could be organised enough to produce health or welfare systems"

Hehe, its quite a common criticism brought to bear against Marx. I guess a Marxist would respond by pointing out that these changes (health, welfare, etc) were brought about by pressure from the political left and fear that if capitalism was to survive, these state provisions were necessary to avoid a revolutionary proletariat.

And hence the capitalists just moved the exploitation to the third world.

goto Mesh Computers and you could get a dual core, laptop for that price with a 17" screen, etc

I don't want a 17" laptop though.

I want the tiniest, lightest one that I can get.

Sadly, the lightest one I could find (Latitude X1) has sat in "pre-production" for AGES so I really don't think I'm going to get it.

And the retailers of the reasonably priced tiny Acer have screwed me around so I REALLY don't want to give them any of my money.

So the Vaio is cute. And I am superficial. It will make me happy.
