Harry woke up and it was all a dream to annoy all the freaks who dress up as wizards and stand in enormous queues to buy the latest book ph34r.gif

A bit reminiscent of Dallas that!

It is isn't it, but even more reminiscent of the finally of crossroads in 2001. They woke up and the whole hotel thing was a dream, they were supermarket girls in Tesco!

The thing about the half-blood prince is, it continues this new "mature harry" style that Rowling hinted very delicately in book 4 and really took form in book 5. As one critic said, its pretty much more of the same thing. And I agree, its nothing new like the first three. Its basically a continuation of book 5, not only stylewise, but also with explicit references with new symbols and characters introduced in book 5 further developed.

Book 7 had better be something new.

Well you see thats the problem with sequels, there has to be some sort of link between the two books (5 and 6) but it sounds like that J.K Rowling has been too careful with establishing some sort of correlation between the books and has simply come out with a continuation of book 5 with extra facts instead of a book which links with book 5 but has merit on its own. I haven't read it so I cant comment.

Yep..precisely. And the annoying thing is, the endings are just so abrupt and short that they don't do justice to the rest of the book. She did it with book 5, and its again in book 6. Like the whole "action against Voldermont" bit is barely what... 80 out of 600 pages long.

Ah well its interesting you should say that, good writers do make the ending a very small proportion of their book and normally it works. What the problem with Harry Potter is that the whole theme and excitement of the book is centred around the big ending and so having a short ending makes it an anti-climax. What should be done is to make the actual telling of the story exciting and make twists and turns etc in the book so that its not all about the ending.

Who do you think R.A.B is? It could be Regulas Black, but then again it could be someone who has the nickname R.A.B or she might just want us to think it is him. blink.gif

Ah well I have very good insider information. Think about it, who does J.K Rowling write the books for and do I have posh cousins?
