The draw for the Men's Singles at Wimbledon has been made, and can be viewed here :-

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/tennis/4094998.stm

There are some interesting matches which could happen - Roddick v Karlovic in the 2nd round, a re-run of the Queen's final which Roddick won. Roddick v Hewitt a possible semi-final I think - both of them can't meet favourite Roger Federer to the final.

For Tim fan's out there, he's facing quite a tough draw, possibly playing Roddick in the quarters!

Also the draw for the womens has been made :-

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/tennis/4095022.stm

Serena Williams here is the bookies favourite, but I wouldn't say it's a stick on. The women's game is quite wide open now adays.

I'm quite excited about Andrew Murray this year. I think he'll do quite well. Felt such a shame for him with the cramp he had in that game he was playing recently.

Me likes Wimbledon!

Yeah I felt it was a shame! I think he was rushing a little as he wanted to play Nottingham this week. He should just have said he wasn't playing and concentrated on getting better for Wimby.

Yeah but Andy Murray doesn't play on the ATP Pro tour. He plays the tour below that, and the level is much lower. There will be a huge gulf from playing juniors where you can win points easily, and playing a grand slam winner like Johansson where every point takes so much out of you.

I love watching wimbledon - but the past few years i have got so caught up in watching it that i get so stressed out about whose going to win, esp in the mens finals. rolleyes.gif Also, that wimbledon tune gets so stuck in my head for weeks after wimbledon. Obsession .

I doubt Tim'll ever win now though. unsure.gif

Federer will win. He is unstoppable. I can remember him in the final last year. That was some performance

Federer is odds on to win his 3rd consecutive title - which is quite a startling statistic.

Federer is certainly the man to beat.

Henman has a really bad draw, the matches he may have to play are
v S Grosjean
v A Roddick (quarter's)
v L Hewitt (semi's)
v R Federer (final)

Doesn't look likely based on his current form!

He might not even get passed Grosjean! However, I have never rated Henman as I think he is an extremely average tennis player when comparing himself to the rest of the world. Hopefully Murray can bring more life back into British tennis. I mean how can the Greg Rusedski be the second best British player?

Henman is well over-rated because we're desperate to see someone British win wimbledon, and he's the best of a bad bunch. dry.gif Murray will surpass his level in the next few years, and will eventually become a fantastic player. smile.gif And he's Scottish! biggrin.gif

The thing I always find amazing about the hype that surrounds Tim at Wimbledon is that he's never won a grass court tournament yet he's a grass court specialist!

Does anyone else think that "Tiger Tim" is just about the most inappropriate nickname in history?

Yeah probably since Tim's pretty conservative on court.

I think Henin-Hardenne prefers clay surfaces to grass! But it was still a shock.

Tim made hard work of his victory today! A 5 set match is not really what you want in your opening match!

The commentators were really biased in the henman game. The crowd kept screaming whenever henman won a point and whenever the other guy won a point the crowd went near silent. It was quite annoying. I hope henman meets federer and then loses 6-0 6-0 6-0 - oh that would be nice!
