The article says "too much alcohol" and "so much alcohol" which there should be a law against. You have to distinguish between being able to make a decision with a sound mind, and making one in a drunken state and in typical Daily Mail journalism - they haven't. Morons taking advantage of really drunk girls are rapists. I doubt that having a glass of wine or two wouldn't construe such desperate measures.
Where's the equality for men? There isn't any real need. Women require far more protection from sleazy and desperate guys than guys require from girls. I for one haven't ever heard of a case of a woman getting a man incredibly drunk then using him. Opposite stories appear in the papers almost daily. They could try but I doubt the man would have any regrets regardless!
Sure, it's likely it could be abused by a woman who regrets a sober one night stand, but wouldn't things such as credit card bills, bank accounts, restaurant bills, club payments, witnesses amongst other things could be used to prove that she consented without being under the influence? I doubt there'd be anywhere near enough evidence for a woman to have such a case conclude to a guilty verdict.
Whatever happened to honourable intentions?
