[FONT=Arial] Hey all, im also doing higher again, decided to upgrade the result! Last year i studied 2 sonnets by shakespear, this year i am doing animal Farm, its sooo good. Last year in class i studid "The Cone Gatherers" by Robin Jenkin, yeah as crap as the book is it is really easy to write about, you cant go two lines without finding something to write about!

Ah well good luck you fellow higher englishers!

I'm doing Jown Fowles' The Collector. Good book about obsession.

It's my first time doing Higher. First impressions is that English is all so technical, and it's rubbish that you don't do any imaginative stuff.

you do write one imaginative essay

but yes the rest of it really is a lot of learning terms for things and quite technical

nope there is an actual imginative essay that you have to write, as well as writing your literature essays you have to write three other ones, reflective, descriptive and imaginative and you need to pass one to pass the higher overall. Altough my english teacher got us to do them all which resulted in some very strange poems from a group of guys in my class

We only did the reflective but we did it in the style of an imaginative(I know that makes no sense but when I put the drafts for my essay up as notes you'll understand).
Half ideas, half quality, half a million pound law suit!

Thats a shame! My English teacher was pleased at the choice so I'm happy because I am really enjoying it but i'm only half way through it.

I did "All Quiet on the Western Front" last year. I really recommend it if you take Higher History as well. ph34r.gif

Alright guys, I am doing 1984 by George Orwell, struggling a bit to be honest. If anybody has any typed essays or suggestions that would be great. Thanks in advance.
