If you are going to do virtually any science or engineering related degree I would recomend AH Maths. If your going to do a more 'classical' subject go for English.

It’s not that I literally think I’m a faerie. It’s just that I feel so different from most people. And this idea of a race living underground in caverns, spending all their days dancing and playing the fiddle and eating flowers and reciting poetry and sharing their dreams, that to me sounds much more real than the way people live in this world, hating and fighting and wanting and hurting. - FLB

Imagine that I can't be comforted at all , in pieces I went from crawling into a ball. Evidence, it's in my breathing every day, less and less and less. Can you hear me now, cause I'm not doing fine, I'm drowning in my mind again - LisaMariePresley

That's cool that you're going to do AH French and AH German! I thought AH French would involve a lot of hard work for me so I decided to concentrate on other subjects. unsure.gif
I think the problem with the Higher English course is highlighted when a person such as yourself is potentially going to fail Higher English but is capable of doing AH French and AH German. rolleyes.gif Good on you though! smile.gif

I'll see how it goes...
"...You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I'll rise....
Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise."

Well, with any luck that is!
Oh weep for Adonais—he is dead!
Wake, melancholy Mother, wake and weep!
Yet wherefore? Quench within their burning bed
Thy fiery tears, and let thy loud heart keep,
Like his, a mute and uncomplaining sleep;

This year I took:

H English
H Maths
H Chemistry
H History
H Gaidhlig

Minimum of AAABB expected (prelim grades) hopefully I've improved!!

I only want to do 3 subjects next year

H Physics
Crash H music
H French

However, my school says without any advance highers 4 columns at least need to be filled in. If I have to I'll do AH chemistry but i want a relaxing year with a job to make money for uni!! Can anyone help me to make a strong argument? I really don't know how to put it!

My (now former!) school had that policy - a few people started with four subjects but then dropped one of them after a short while.

Actually I think my brother did that but he was doing AH Gaidhlig too. The school even put my name down for Crash higher Modern studies which I have no intention of doing and I wouldn't have known about it had I not happened to see the class list!! The thing is once I start something I would have to finish it! I'm that kind of person, I never give up!!
