This year I did

Higher English
Higher Maths
Higher Physics
Higher Chemistry
Higher French

And I got an A for all of them in my prelims (just).

Next year I want to do

Advanced Higher English
Higher Media Studies (crash)
Higher Admin
Int 2 Spanish

We have to do 4 subjects in 6th year at our school. Wish I only had to do three, then I'd drop Admin. =/

I agree with you on the six highers thing Douglas! I don't know how I've coped with five, never mind six. Where do find the time to do homework?

p.s. whats the deal with the 6 highers where do you get the time?

Me and a couple of people at my school finished standard grade computing over 1/2 a year early, so instead of doing nothing we started the higher course. That means that I didn't have very much to learn for the course. Also, I havn't put that much work into it, I got 84% in my prelim (I looked over past papers the night before), for todays exam I think I did OK as well. It doesn't really matter how well I do in computing as long as I get A's in my other subjects (although after today's computing exam it looks like it could be 6 A's).

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

6 wasn't too bad, i just didn't get free periods, made sure I kept on top of my homework and tried to do a bit of studying each night. It was a bit hard to juggle during the middle of the year, but when I consider that some nutters in my year are doing 7 and 8 highers, 6 seems like a breeze!

What school do you go to exactly!?? People were amazed at me doing 6 (thought I was suicidal) and Bearsden Academy is not exactly a bad school.

I'm taking AH Art, AH Physics and Higher Phillosophy.

I had to get special permission to take three, lol. And they want me to join lots of activities. So I'm gonna join the newspaper, charities and yearbook... I'm *so* glad I have a relaxing year.

I'm at Hutchie (Hutchesons' Grammar School). I think most of the people in my year are doing 6 highers, I don't know many people that are sitting five in my school, to be honest! Is Bearsden private as well?

Anyway, so glad the highers are over!

Six Highers?! They only allow us to do 5, but that's all that fits in the timetable anyway.

This year I did with prelim grade

Higher English - B
Higher Chemistry - D
Higher Business Management - A
Higher Modern Studies - A
Higher Computing - B (Not including course work, which was an A)

And for sixth year I am taking

Advanced Higher Modern Studies
Higher Economics - First try at this
Higher Accounts
Higher Info Systems - Crash, but I have done Computing.

AH Maths is a doddle once you get into the course and all the units tie up with each other.

As for H Biology it is easy to crash and you'll be surprised how many crash this subject in particular at Higher. You're not alone!

Good luck with your English and Chemistry results.
