I don't want to discuss answers but I wrote down all my multiple choice marks and I got 28/40. In the written paper I got about 25.

So overall, I got about 25+28 = 53/100 = 53%. Give or take a few marks.

Considering that last year the pass for a C was 45/100, I don't think the pass rate will be much higher this year, so I'm fairly confident I have a C.

n(iodine)= c x v = X mol
1 mol Iodine ----> 1 mol Vit C, so n(vitamin c) = X mol
GFM of Vit C = Y (using the Data Book)
mass Vit C =ng = XY

Hope that made sense. Sorry I couldn't remember exact figures.

yep, you end up with like 10^-4, and then multiply by 10 so its 10^-3.

The oxidation of cyclohexanol I said gives you hexanal unsure.gif

Oh yeah, it was cyclohexanal wasn't it.
and I think it did have to be drawn, at least thats what I done.

Will I get an automatic fail for taking the rough working sheet away?

I really dont think so.. I mean there wasn't really huge amounts of working to be done.

The rough working sheet is just thrown away anyway, so you'll be allowed to take it out of the exam!

Our invigilator told us...

yeah, it is not like you have written your name on the sheet so they don't know if you have taken it. Even if you did, it probably wouldn't matter...

How would you get cyclohexanal? I found it impossible. Since the C with the carbonyl group will have 1 bond to the H and 2 bonds to the O, which leaves 1 bond vacant. But if its in a chain, it needs 2 bonds to be connected to both ends of the chain... So I drew hexanal.
