Poly(ethenyl ethanoate) reacts with methanol to form poly(ethanol) + methyl ethanoate

Is that just your answer or definitely the correct answer? How confident are you? Did your teacher confirm it?

Just "ethanol" would be ok, instead of "poly(ethanol)" - right?

Oh man I'm outnumbered

I got methanol too but I guess we're still outnumbered huh.gif - you look at the ester link and the side next to the O atom is the alcohol. Pretty sure that's right. YEAY randomly wrote that the KOH absorbs the carbon dioxide - and looks like might actually right!! Making up for that utterly confusing question with the obstinately unreactive copper metal. BUT - if the copper metal is so unreactive, how can the carbon dioxide be produced when the hydrogen isn't? Really need to see that question!

Well I'm glad that it's over so I don't want to think about exams that much any more. If someone was able to publish some unofficial answers then I think the chat would be in full swing again!

The question being referred to was the one that asked what element would have the lowest volume for 100g (fluorine as it has the highest gfm). I don't think I wrote caesium as an answer to any question. :/
