what do i need to know from this topic because i don't see the point in learning all that boring information when there are never questions on it. would it just basically be what a batch and continuous process are and naming raw materials?

everything you said as well as adv, and disadv, of bacth and continuous processes. Reasons/ ways of processes being more economical, e.g. recycling chemicals, useful by-products, harmful/ harmless reactants, products, etc.

There usually are questions on it, e.g, showing an industrial process with a huge flow diagram, etc

This is just from past papers but hopefully other people can add if there is more

So...

Continuous process: more costly processing plants but ideal for large scale production

Batch process: less costly processing plants but ideal for small scale production

What else?

Oh yeah.

Capital costs (initial expenses) - buying the land, building of the plant, roads, etc
Fixed costs - wages, paying rents, etc
Variable costs - raw materials
