Just another poll about what grades you think you'll get.

I think today didn't go bad at all. I feel the past few years have been quite easy, with 2000 and the Winter Diet 2002 Paper (not really a real exam!) being the exception
There were a few tricky questions but apart from that they seemed like Unit NAB questions! (OK maybe a bit too far)

Im going to say a C, Iv went through what i think iv done right and its came out as a B,but I don't think that can be right since Maths is my worst subject! Plus I don't want to say I think iv done well then I fail, that would just upset me more! Im one of those people who would rather not be confident, just incase! tongue.gif

Yeah, todays paper was very simple I thought.

Bar that one question in the non calc with the value of cos DEA or whatever then I was confident about the rest of the questions, even the 8 marker at the end of paper 2 was fairly simple for the end of a paper! biggrin.gif

Really pleased, I go so far to say that was an A.

I'll be cautious and go for a B. With any luck I'll have an A, even my teacher said I deserve it! Hope everyone gets what they need and deserve. smile.gif

My teacher said that I should get an A or B [even though I got a D in the pre-lim :/]

I'm hoping for a C, but I'd like to fulfil my teachers expectations [not very likely]

I think you should all pray that I pass.

Do you think the boudaries will be moved up this year?

I think they will - quite a few people who failed their prelim in our year seemed like they were on the way to getting A's.

I honestly think I maybe lost at the most like about 15-20 marks which would probably give me an A band 1. A possible improvement (although quite a small one) over my prelim - I got somewhere like about 82%.

Although I have to admit the Marking Schemes seem to be really strict on your working. You can get the right answer and if your workings not perfect only gain like 2 marks for a 5 mark question.

It's gonna come up as a B I reckon for me. I'm quite gutted, as I messed up a couple of questions I should have had full marks in. Really wanted a B, but it's just not possible now really.

Can anyone tell me the boundaries for the past couple of years exams?

Allan said on another thread "If i've worked it out right:

C - 46%
B - 61%
A - 75%
Upper A - 85%" for last year.
Please vote for me! (Brendan Howard, 5th from bottom, only 1 vote required): http://answers.polld...m/poll/2330393/

Didn't realise an A would be so high. Whatever happened to the simple 50, 60 and 70%? An A is completely out of the picture now, and I'm very dissapointed. Some of the questions I messed up are very easy(although I still cant do Question 10 of Paper 1!)

Comparing this poll with the English 1, it seems more people feel they have done better in Maths than English although the numbers weren't balanced.

It would be quite interesting to see what the overall vote is for the polls...

Well I would think I dropped probably 12marks in paper 1
And about 4 or 5 in paper 2.

Plus you can drop about 30, and still get an A I would think...since the pass mark ain't ever gonna be much higher than 76/77%!

So Say I've dropped 17 - can still drop a fair few in the working say...should be sound enough for an A rolleyes.gif

And even my english teacher said my essays sounded fine rolleyes.gif so this has been a good few days.

The SQA comments about last years cut offs were these:

"The pass mark remained the same as the examination was deemed equivalent at the C-interface as the
previous year. The increase in the marks required for an A and a B reflected the slight easing of the
questions designated to target the prospective B-grade and A-grade candidates."

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

I'm causiously optimistic, I think I may have managed an A.
