I won't post the questions because supposedly your not allowed.

2001 Section A Part 2
Q31(a) It asks you to say which has hydrogen bonding. I know it is Hydrogen Fluoride but then I thought, why is is not LiOH as well? Could it not be hydrogen bonding like this:
......................................................H
.........................................Li O H -- O
......................................................Li ????

LiOH I think has the Hydroxide ion which means that it is not Hydrogen bonded to Oxygen but just 1 ion. The answer is HF because it has hydrogen joined to F which makes the molecule highly polar.

Ok I get it now, because its a Hydroxide Ion and not just an H. Thanks people.
