And that's for 18 year olds? That's terrible. I also don't think there should be a difference between 18 yo min wage and 21 yo min wage.

No neither do I!

I think that is stupid! Sum1 at 18 is just as capable of doing excatly the same job, quality of work blah blah that a 21 year old is! It is the most pointless thing ever!!

well apparently there is a really old law that says while you are living with your parents they are financially responsible for you. So, this allows them to lower the wages.

If you were living in your own flat at 18 and even better with a family you will get a range of benifits and things anyway.

Yeah you are right though i mean there is people who are getting min wage or less just now and doing the same job as people in say B&Q or something and getting well over £5 before training!

If i am not here i am somewhere else

I am not long back from the Tesco Open day.

We watched a video, got a presentation about the company and then got to ask questions to people from various departments.

I expressed the greatest interest in the grocery department and the woman took my name down. Then you had to pick up an application, and I'd already filled one out so...it's now wait and see! tongue.gif

I have an interview with the Odeon today smile.gif at 5pm.

In these interviews they always ask: Why do you want to work with >insert company< and I always say something along the same lines: everytime I visit the staff are always helpful and friendly and should be good to work with, the company is very successful and that it is local.

Can anyone else think of something better I could say?

Does/has anyone worked for asda?

Do you really have to go on a 2-hour thing before getting interviewed?

And also who do you suggest I put as a second reference, I am putting either year head or guidance teacher and there is space for another reference which mustn't be a teacher or family member, I haven't ever had a job before and don't got to any clubs so who should I put. Would someone like a neighbour do?

Yes you need to go for a 2 hour group selection interview where you do various tasks. I passed that and went for the one to one interview, and my application was successful, however I then received a phonecall and they put my application on 'hold'. sad.gif.

Cows are magnificent,
Cows I call them "moos",
And sometimes silly folk,
They call my moos "coos".

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!
