never mind that, spare a thought for those of us who left last year! this year has just flown by - scary!
when i'm dancin' with you,
tomorrow doesn't matter,
turn that music up,
till the windows start to shatter,
cos you're the only one who can get me on my feet,
& i can't even dance

Lol I know what you mean. Still, the way I see it... 6th year is gonna be a GREAT year! You'll be top of the school. I've heard it's not as stressful and serious as 5th year. tongue.gif biggrin.gif

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

Sixth year is a total let down. Personally, I wsh I'd left at the end of S5 because S6 is a waste of time for most people. It's not gonna be as amazing as you imagine.

I think in theory sixth year is good. It does give you the chance to grow up a bit.

But I ended up being bored out of my skull because I chose three subjects where I didn't do anything.

There's also a LOT of bitching in sixth year. I'll warn you now.

Yip.

The only good thing about it is I have matured a lot and I am ready to go to Uni.

However, it is a complete letdown:
You don't get treated like "young adults".
You are bored out of your nut doing subjects that you don't need and as a result you will become very lazy.
The novelty of the common room and having free periods will son wear off: there is only so much dance music you can take before you crack.

Its not as good as everyone says so. There is no such thing as having a relaxed 6th year because you'll be so pissed off doing stuff you don't need, you will find that you just cannot relax.

I was a Prefect and part of the "Prefect Leadership Team" and it hardly set 6th year on fire...

Bitching goes into overdrive - I think it's because no one has anything better to do with their time, haha!

And Jill - sloganizer's great, innit? Hahaha... I had "Jesus loves Lindsay" the other day. I nearly died laughing.

Think I need to get out more.

Bahaha, we got the Libertines. Or was it Babyshambles? And ocassionaly a bit of screamo/emo/whateverthehellitis and some Flood of Red. Wow! And then we'd get a bit of rap, too. Rawr to that.

Much preferred it when the radio was left on.

There is only so much of the common room music I could take. Then I bought my iPod, problem solved...at top volume it drowned out the rest of the rabble! tongue.gif

We also had to endure BEAT 106/Clyde 1.

The worst radio stations on earth - you cannot beat Radio 1.

6th year really sucked for me. didn't enjoy it much at all, was just mostly boring! on the other hand, it did make me ready to leave by the end of it!

There probably were a few good things about S6 because it made me become a little bit more independent.

Watch out for Common Room Syndrome though. It's what makes S6 so bad. You're in the common room and the music will annoy you. Therefore you can't study because of the music so then you start doing rubbish in your classes. Then you wonder, why the hell am I here doing these pointless things? Then you get moody and start to bitch about... everything. All because you're in a room with the same people everyday they all get on your nerves like never before. Before you'd see them in the odd class and that would be it but now they're there ALL THE TIME. That's when the backstabbing and falling out really begins.

But hey, that was just my Sixth Year, might not be like that for everyone.
The race is long, and in the end it's only with yourself.

Having a library as a common room stopped a lot of the problems you mention above.
