Paper 1 was unbelievably easy. I answered every question without difficulty.

Paper 2 was a bit harder mainly due to the last question. I wasn't sure what to do but I wrote -1≤p≥3 and I'm not sure if it's correct. However I did get the rest of the question right so I'm not to worried about losing a mark or 2 for it. That was all I really got stuck at and in my opinion the rest of paper 2 was just as straightforward as paper 1.

You've just said p≥-1 and p≥3. Clearly if p is more than -1 it is also more than 3. I got the answer to be -1≥p and p≥3

Now I see where I went wrong. I wasn't quite sure. However it was just that last statement so I'm not too worried about it. Thanks.

I managed both quite well, missed out two questions I think, attempted the rest. I was hoping for a bare pass but I'd take a B now. smile.gif

I thought it was ok, could have been a lot harder.

My friend is really worried because she thought she got all the answers wrong, do you think she will be able to get a B even without the right answers and just the working?

Thank god maths is finished!!!!!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

It's possible as you still get marks if you start off wrong, so she could be OK!

I thought that was the hardest maths paper I have ever done! I think there's seriously only about 4 or 5 questions from both papers that i'm pretty confident with. I wrote something down for every single question though, so all I can do is hope for the best smile.gif

I just worked through both papers there - they both seem relatively simple now that I have had a proper look at them, I'll post answers later if I get time.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

Paper 1 was quite demanding, nothing simple, alot to sorta figure out and concentrate on as opposed to the usual paper 1 which is just do this and do that. I knew nearly everything, just a few places where my arithmetic's gone wrong so I'm countin on follow throughs.

Paper 2 was extremely lenient and short for 1:30 mins! I was done nearly half an hour before time... along with a good deal of my class. Plus the marks distribution was really lenient - 8 marks for such a simple integration with the curves, typically you wouldnt expect more than 5.

I aint predictin nothin, hope for the best, expect the worst wink.gif lol.

For the 8 marker did anyone say that y = x^2 was the graph that was above the other one?

IF NOT PLEASE DO NOT POST OTHERWISE I WILL START CRYING

Actually, I think it looks harder than last years exam (since last years was the easiest ever made). However, it still looks quite simple.

Relatively simple? Maybe if you had done higher maths a year ago whistling.gif

Paper 1 was the harder one for me due to some of the awkward questions.

The questions which I am likely to have either got nothing for or partial marks:

P1 -

4b (mainly ii)
6b) silly mistake but hopefully at least 3/5
8c) I only managed to get a max.
11b)

P2 -

3c) Couldn't work out coordinates but made them up and continued with second part - how many marks would I get out of 4?
8 Not sure - I managed to say that sinx = 0 occurred with O (0), B (pi) , D (2pi) wheras cosx... occured with A, C after I hade factorised..I knin of rmbled on abit
11b) Done lots of working but never got near to the answer - all I had was p = 1 or something like that. What I did was synthetic division and I said that since (x+1) was a factor meaning tht the rem. = 0. I then worked out p to be 1 and subbed this into original equation where I tried to factorise it again. Did anyone get only 1 root?

However,

Yea i got 36 as well!
I agree, everyone has strengths in different areas, therefore an exam for one person could have been challenging and for another not so

You'll never bring me down, cos' i'm so far above you...

that is eight marks in the bag biggrin.gif. However for that angles and vectors question I think I got 45 degrees but people are saying they got 50-ish... I think I did the method correctly but must have made a silly mistake somewhere. Does anyone know how many marks I would get out of 5?
