I am hoping for an A. In my two prelims I've had A's - 81% and 94%.
Paper tends to be a bit nippy some years I've noticed.

FF47 the pass mark for an A was only 75 last year. In 2003 in was 70. and in 2002 in was 66.

I think an A is obtainable if you know the work well.

The SQA admitted that the 2002 paper was basically a bad one! It was harder now I think about it

mmm i'm hoping for an A but that doesn't look all that likely at the moment, i did get 82% in my prelim though and that was with doing virtually no studying. but now i have studied i feel i know less lol. the 2002 paper is quite bad, 2004 was alrite so i'd be happy with one similiar to that.

Oh that makes me feel a bit better. It seemed harder to me.
Going to try tackling the 04 paper today {crosses fingers}

All you A people scare me sad.gif I need at least a B, preferably an A, and got 48% in my prelim.

What's the pass mark for a B like? Does it vary as much as for an A?

i want and am aiming for anything higher than a D. realisticly i'm talknig about a C (talk about setting your standards high!).i would be unbelievably overjoyed if i got a C. i'm making myself happy jsut even thinking of passing. I have studied alot, but i'm basically jsut not as good as i was at maths last year!!

i'd prefer an outright fail than a D though. I don't want a D to ruin all my other perfect grades...(ahem!) i know that at least with a D you get a wee letter on your certificate but , to me, it's useless. Its basically jsut a fail anyway but trying to make you feel better..thats what i think anyway.

Phew! Somebody else who doesn't think an A is feasible {hugs} I know what you mean about not wanting a D on your certificate smile.gif

I was thinking A after first prelim but i've slipped alot and it's my own fault. I would be happy with a B, but i'm unsure i'll even get this. Going to go into school at 9 tomorrow and study for a few hours. I don't really know why i'm so scared, only really had problem with 2003 paper ( surprised 2002 is considered the harder one ) so hopefully 2005 is a fairly easy one ( but not too easy ).

I didn't think the 2002 paper was all that bad, apart from A10 really!

Yeah the second part of that just goes way over my head lol.

What's everyones least likes topic?

I don't like the vectors unit at all, and also I don't like the diffeerential equations part of the unit where it goes on about growth and decay. blink.gif

I don't like the growth and decay DE's. But I tried 3 of them out the TeeJay revision sheets and got them correct! After I ignored what scholar said about putting a -k in for decay! smile.gif

I don't particularly like sequences and series as it seems always to be of a problem type and not straighforward examples like out the book.

I like curve sketching

I hated vectors, but as I said earlier in the week I think I know how to do them now so I'm not too worried. I dislike curve sketching because I can't remember it but i'll have that fixed by tonight hopefully. Hm, what else, decay questions! I think I hate them most. I actually missed the day of school we were taught them sad.gif
