aaah no I got something like 75% I think for that! What did you mention for the Pituitary Hormone essay... I could only think of 3 - ADH, somatatrophin and Thyroxine Stimulating Hormone and it was worth 4 marks *whoops* will have to hope they give marks for explaining each hormone unsure.gif

I never talked about ADH, just TSH and the Growth Hormone (is somatrophin the same?) but hopefully I got 4 marks for that. I wrote less for the second part but I was quite specific about effects on root, shoot, lateral buds, leaf fall, fruits and stuff.

Hippo, are you talking about the one where it said why the lymphocyte would reject or the last bit about overcoming rejection?

I said that Lymphocytes recognised the tissue as being foreign due to the unfamiliar antigens of the tissue and the fact that the lymphocyte would make antibodies to destroy the tissue.

I said immunosuppressor drugs for the second bit, but it required some thought tongue.gif

oh yes that tissue rejection one... unsure.gif had a total memory blank the first time round but then remembered that you can administer immunosuppressor drugs to prevent rejection or else try to find the closest match so that the antibodies are less likely to attack the transplanted tissue.

I hope you had time to change the mistakes otherwise that would have been really frustrating

I remember 75% as well. The other option in the ADH question was severe bleeding.

I don't think I put stay the same for any of those.

Incidentally someone's phone went off today in the exam and the invigilator was like "who was that, own up now, your exam is going to be cancelled." He seemed very surprised that no one admitted to it!

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

One of the questions i struggled with went something along the lines of "Describe 2 things that cambium cells produce after division" or something related to that! I was completely snookered at that one and had to hazard a guess....
You'll never bring me down, cos' i'm so far above you...

That annoyed me, xylem is talked about in standard grade if I'm not mistaken? I never did standard grade biology, I'm crashing higher this year.
