How did everyone find the human biology exam? I thought it was quite difficult compared to the previous past papers, and definitely harder than our prelim. The essays threw a lot of people off I think, carbon cycle etc...not like the mRNA or memory essays like previous years. I did well in my prelim and practising past papers, but I'm very worried about my outcome for this exam.

Did anyone else find it more difficult than the previous years? Or were there any particular parts you were glad that/didnt want to come up?

Good luck 2 all for August anyway

Yeah I thought it was more difficult than the past papers too.

Multiple choice + the essays were ok, but I'm not sure about the bit in the middle...the immunity question was quite hard.

What were the 2 things the white cells did in response to the antigens? I put:
1. Some multiply rapidly and mass produce the required antibody
2. Some become memory cells

Not sure if that's right tho blink.gif

Oo and the increase in ADH...

I put it caused an increase in the conc of urea at point S, and a decrease in the conc of glucose at point whatever

nooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!

i think that exam was a lot more difficult than the past papers and prelims!! Usually I find Biology Ok (got 70% and 87% in my 2 prelims) but I struggled with that 1! sad.gif

I expected to pass maybe with an A but now I think i'll b lucky to get the B i need!!

I thought the essays were terrible, the four topics chosen were my four weakest mad.gif Just checked my notes and for my first essay I haven't got a single thing right and have just a few things correct in the second essay!!!

The multiple choice and middle section weren't as bad as the essays thankfully! Quite a lot of questions from graphs etc i thought!

Aw well, can always resit next year if I don't get my B! sad.gif

HOPE EVERYONE ELSE DID WELL!!

i sat human bio last year as a crash higher - really glad i wasn't doing it this year if the essays were drastically different to normal! i seem to remember being really lucky with my essays in last years exam!
when i'm dancin' with you,
tomorrow doesn't matter,
turn that music up,
till the windows start to shatter,
cos you're the only one who can get me on my feet,
& i can't even dance

I thought it was pretty difficult. This was the first year that my school ran the course which didn't help matters! Lucky I had just looked over the liver things before I left the house so I managed something for that essay. There were a few questions which didn't seem very well worded I thought which made it a bit harder to know what they were looking for.

The question about immunity: I wrote the memory cells and mass production of antibodies too!

I'm hoping for an A although I'm not sure if that'll happen now!

It's when you do a higher without doing a standard grade or int2 first

People crash biology more often than other subjects because there is not really a huge overlap from standard grade to higher.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!
