Tell us which unit you thought was hardest. Mine would be unit two. Especially these op-amps sad.gif

I'd say Unit 1. Finding it a lot harder than the other two units. Dynamics is probably the hardest topic for me.

The second one.

I think compared to chemistry they are all relatively ok.

unit 2 was my worst, but i've never really been interested in the electricity side of things, so its probably not that it was all that much harder, just that i found it more of a struggle cos i wasn't all that interested in learning the stuff!
when i'm dancin' with you,
tomorrow doesn't matter,
turn that music up,
till the windows start to shatter,
cos you're the only one who can get me on my feet,
& i can't even dance

Definitely the electricity unit. The other two just seem to be more logical, to me anyway!
<MrBob> I hate Uni. At least in film studies we get to talk about Fight Club.
<@X-Factor> Wouldnt you be breaking the first 2 rules?

the electricity one definetly! but thats probably because i'm crashing it and have no knowledge of circuits!

I thought electricity was extremely simple and easy (especially operational amplifiers).

I found unit three the hardest - the stuff about semiconductors especially.

Unit 2 is muchly the hardest. I have never really understood voltage and current. When I think I do, I find out something new and contradicting... just gotta accept everything I'm told, and memorize what happens when. Resistors can be pretty annoying too. Op-amps are simple enough when all you need is the equations. The questions I find hard are the questions that ask what is happening in a circuit (although capacitors can be easy sometimes for that type of question)

The others can be worked out with common sense generally...

i spose the semiconductors unit wos hardest as thers soo much 2 learn and its tough 2 get ur head round tht 1
all olthers seemd ok 2 me tho

I thought units 1 and 2 were equally hard and unit 3 was the easiest (although when you start physics you probably think the stuff in unit3 is impossible).

Unit 3 is easy if you accept everything you're told as fact, instead of immediately challenging it.
It is good to question why once you accept what happens is perfectly possible.

IMO unit 3 of higher physics is the easiest. Unit 2 isn't hard, but it's probably a bit harder to understand if you don't like the subject matter - most people don't seem to like electronics for some reason.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

As a crash higher student Unit 3 causes me the most problems. At first I was phased by Unit II but lots of revision has helped.

I found most of the unit easy enough but the stuff about different energy levels for electrons in unit 3 really just flew by me. I don't have a clue about that, anyway good luck to everyone next week!!

I think the second unit relies most on Standard Grade stuff so is by FAR the hardest for Us Who Crasheth Physics! Took me months for the electronics side of things to finally click - aah just fondly remembering the beginning of the course when I was innocently sitting there going 'what's a resistor?!'

Unit 3 has a LOT of higher chemistry in so that helped a lot. Unit 1 is just mainly learning those laws of motion and the thousands of formulae they throw at you!
