Hey everyone,

I take advanced highers in modern studies and chemistry this year and was just wondering what other ahs people took and which they prefer the most.

Feel free to comment on why you like that one and whether you are going to study it further next year.

My fav is modern studies especially the more sociological bits. Going to do politics with psychology and sociology at Stirling Uni next year.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

Accounting, its quite easy and so you can just work and relax in class. When something hard comes up it just makes it interesting.

physics was my fave. hence why i'm studying it at uni now!
when i'm dancin' with you,
tomorrow doesn't matter,
turn that music up,
till the windows start to shatter,
cos you're the only one who can get me on my feet,
& i can't even dance

Geography is clearly the best subject, it is easy and it involves REAL things and REAL problems. It could beat history hands down any day... think of the future!!!!

so I take it that chemistry is not popular. Is this because it is quite tough.

The hardest higher is apparantly geology. What is the hardest AH meant to be?

AH Physical Education had the lowest pass rate last year with only 40.3% of candidates passing. However, there were only 77 entries.
For courses with >500 entries the AH with the lowest pass rate last year was Maths with only 60.7% of candidates passing.
Higher Geology actually had a pass rate of 81% last year whilst none of the 3 entrants for Higher Manufacturing passed and only 4 of the 51 entrants (10.5%) for Higher Design passed.
