We have just released HSN22510 - Unit 2 Level C Assessment, designed to help in preparation for the NAB on Unit 2. We would welcome any comments you have; your feedback will help us improve the materials on offer.

Have to say the Maths notes are very impressive and very useful
Hope Unit 3 will be up before the final in May!

Hi!
In the marking scheme for the Unit 2 NAB, there shouldn't be a squared sign after the bracket for the final answer in question 2!

Sorry ally, could you please clarify this. I've had a look, but there's no bracket in the final answer of Q2. Did you mean Question 1?

I think the marking scheme is right with a square after the final bracket...
After the synthetic division you get the quotient as x² - 4x + 4 which factorises into (x - 2) (x - 2) which is the equivalent of (x - 2)².
Hence the final factorised form is your original factor, plus the factorised quotient, giving
f(x) = (x + 2) (x - 2)²

kool no probs, i got my maths prelim this thurs, and will probably have the unit 3 NAB in about 2 weeks time or so...
