Just wondering how everyone else found out about this site.

I found out about the original one, which for some reason didn't work for me, on a google, and it redirected me to this one. tongue.gif

We got some revision hand-outs in Information Systems last year, which had the web address at the bottom.
So glad I got those hand-outs now. smile.gif

I was looking up answers a Maths paper on Google and this place came up.

And I'm a sucker for message boards, so I signed up.

I found it searching for the Maths answers.

I was bored when I found it so I decided to go on and noise people up, but then I realised it was acutally quite useful. So now I am stuck with this annoying username unsure.gif

Searching for Maths answers is quite popular then, eh? tongue.gif

I think either George or Steve might be able to change your username.

Would it be "The student room" aka UK-Learning by any chance?

Unless there is someone else with the same name on UKL applying for SPS at Robinson College Cambridge... tongue.gif

Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

as for scholar forums they have really been through the wars.

Around late summer last year they were shut because of people using them badly (really badly) then they were reopened after christmas with online tutors on each board

They were shut after exams and have now reopened

If i am not here i am somewhere else

I was just wondering, on Google is it the most popular result that comes up first?

I've noticed that this site often comes up in the first page when I 'google' stuff.

I thought they did a thing where the more you are propared to pay the higher up the search order you are but web sites pay by the number of hits they get so it doesn't really add up

Cool!

Higher Admin comes up top result aswell. A few others would probably come up top aswell.

Dave I think they use some sort of equation to work out the rank of the page. blink.gif

Found it looking for notes on normalisation. The notes here helped as they described it perfectly.
First post was directing someone to my notes on Wilfred Owen's "Exposure" which then became a project of providing the rest of my english notes. Hung around just in case I was needed again tongue.gif
