Free periods are what 6th year's all about! You can do all your homework, you can have afternoons off, time to relax in the common room.

However it won't all be rosy! Generally we get roped into doing things in our free periods. EG:- selling poppies, badges, charity collections, sorting out school photos.
And I am probably aware that my free periods will end up being filled later on in the year with revision or extra time for my AH Computing Project.

However you will appreciate if you do AH's you really just need some breaks! Especially after double AH Maths! huh.gif

Yeah... you haven't fully experienced school until you've had free periods blink.gif - OK debatable.

Anyway, yeah their great me thinks. We usually just end up playing cards and also use to play on the ps2 until someone decided to drop it... mad.gif

Ah well, at least it wasn't intentional (and not from my money)...

I've got 10 free periods; 3 of them are used for class support in business education, another couple are usually used up organising committee stuff, another couple for young enetrprise and the rest (which are well deserved i reckon) for sitting down the common room playing cards!!

I have seven free periods, most which I do use wisely (i'm always myself,no1 has free periods the same time as me sad.gif)I spend about 3 periods on artwork (i'm doing self-study Higher art),1 for doing homework which has to be handed in later that day and the other three I use to get through my large collection of Terry Pratchett books or do notes. It works for me this way because I hardly have any homework to do when I get home, just notes:).

I have 15 free periods a week which sounds an awful lot! Three of them are allocated to Young Enterprise and the rest of them I either do some homework or just chat to my friends in the study room! We're not allowed in the common room but we don't exactly do much in our 'study' periods!

i have 9 free periods which is the second highest in the year (highest is like 10 or 12) this 9 does't include paired help and are for my own studying. Most olnly have 5 ir 6 because we had to take at least 4 subjects and tha was only if we had a higher in the column we were taking free. The days of doing nothing in 6th year are over all because years in the past have abused the idea mad.gif

If i am not here i am somewhere else

Dave, It's not as if there are checks on what is carried out in the Common Room. I think the idea of changing the name to 'Personal Study Periods' is daft. The period is free, and any studying you wish to do, can be carried out in this time.

You what a dictatorship sounds like? Well do you think that's what your school is like? And what's wrong with spend free periods with your buddies in the Common Room, *coughcough* ;-)
Who is the 'She' in the nursery rhyme, "She'll be coming round the mountain when she comes"?
