I'm not a fan of gap years. I'd rather get my degree, earn lots - then take early retirement.

Louise and Martin, you guys are so funny when you "chat". Anyhoo, the new board sounds good, Im off to uni this year and cannot wait!! Only 7 official days of school left!! But that does mean panic is setting in about exams...

The board would be good because it would also give 6th years a chance to chat to the 5th years when they need advice about choosing new courses and to ask questions about adv highers to the others that have followed the courses. Also, it could be used to talk about craving's, cant say I'v had any (maybe just marmite on toast mmm!)

And most importantly it could be used to talk about muck up day!!! Ha ha, just kidding (although my school was thinking about bringing 3 sheep into the school and spray painting numbers 1,2 and 4 onto them so the head of year would run about looking for number 3...)

Ah, the joys of school!

you've got to admit tho, it would be funny.

"Where is number 3!!!"

Lulu is just evil tho tongue.gif I'm kidding!

I was actually at Glenalmond College today. An entrance conference for Cambridge... Scary. I'd love to go! I got a free lunch! woo!! Challenging to get into tho.

Muck up day? Hmm... My school would never do that. They're too up themselves and love being 'proper' - of course... leavers day in 6th year is going to be hell for them... and yes - sheep feature in my plan - they'll be running about all over the school biggrin.gif laugh.gif

It would be quite amusing - I think my idea would be really funny too. Mainly because they'd take it so seriously!

Marmite smells disgusting!

lmao! The worst we ever do is bring eggs and flour in and throw it over the S1's when we leave for the day, although a few years ago the sixth years put trout in the air vents and under the stairwells, the place stank over the whole summer - I'm pretty sure there's still another few around that they haven't got.

Yip, the 6th years used trout last year in the library, it smelt so bad and worst of all the janitors couldnt find it so it was there for days! And they also spray painted on the grass some message. Next week should be fun!! tongue.gif

Martin - Marmite may smell bad but it tastes damn good on toast, im addictided to it now. I would try chocolate and bananas, if only i liked bananas.

U guys sound like ur gonna have so much fun when you leave. My school is full of neds who behave terribly but if we did that they'd go into "prim and proper" mode and send out notices to the unis we'd applied to. Still I have a whole year to go til I leave anyway.

Haha, neds. Luckily we dont have any of them in our school. It's going to be fun but we cant do anything too bad because they will just exclude the whole year (like they did a few years ago) and then they dont let us come back for the very last day where we go to the beach and have a bbq. Lets hope it doesnt rain though.

Yeah the beach, cant wait. True true back to the suggestions. I think the board would be really good though, not for every day chat but for school purpose questions that dont relate to a certain subject so much. I think it could encourage more people to stay on at school for longer???

Well, the new boards have been added now. Hopefully, once all the stress of the exams is over, many of you will stick around and share your wisdom!

And on the subject of muck-up day - our school just had a gathering for S6 today, and the Head told us we've been so good this year, we've been given an extra day of study leave, starting tomorrow! It'll be interesting to see if many people come in regardless. I have heard a few funny plans - and I've started a new thread.

I don't know! I read a few posts yesterday which seem to have mysteriously dissappeared now?

i would have to second that however i couldn't tell you where from but it was last night around 1900.

I think an interesting idea would be to have at least a topic after the exams of what grades people think they will get and then on Aug 10 have one showing what people actually got it would be fun to compare the two. (maybe!)

If i am not here i am somewhere else

Unfortunately one of the forum members spoiled all their posts and so they had to be deleted.

Sorry for the trouble.

Hi,

I sent an email to BBC Bitesize and recommended this web-site as a 'Hot Link', this is the reason why you'll probably find it in their link section.

It think it will 'spread the word' for this web-site.

I think I should have asked for your permission first but anyway it will only do the site good, I think.
